SuperPop!

SuperPop! was the main exhibition of Serlachius Museum Gösta’s pavilion summer 2014. Timo Valjakka was the curator of the exhibition. In the publication of the exhibition VAljakka presents the exhibitions’ artists and their works.

In his comprehensive article Timo Valjakka deals with the development of pop art from 1950s to present day. He describes how the pop art originating from Great Britain and USA changed the concept of art and established itself on the art field and how artist contemporaries of 1960s followed the example of international pop art.

Valjakka laso despribes the contemporary artist generation which has grown midst the popular culture. He demonstrates how pop art has changed along with the youg artist generations and how the port art has become more socially committed than before.
