Guided tour to town by bus
At Serlachius guided tour to town, industrial history, architecturally interesting buildings and beautiful lake landscapes of Mänttä. During the sightseeing it will be ominent how the town and its most impressive buildings have been established along with the Serlachius paper company. We hear stories behind the landmarks of the industrial locality and have a view to its history. We also take a peek into the beautiful stone church of Mänttä. A guided tour will be carried out in the group’s own bus.

Guided tour to church
Serlachius’ guide will lead to the picturesque and attractive stone church. The church (1928) is a unique total artwork designed by W. G. Palmqvist, who belonged to the trusted architects of G. A. Serlachius company. The interior design of the church consists of a especially large amount of artworks. During the visit we see among others sculptor Hannes Autere’s wood carvings, altogether 35 pieces that decorate the altar rail and the pulpit.

NATURE TOURS
Guided walk on the Love path
Serlachius’ guided walk on you can combine the best features of town tours and nature tours. Travel a distance of three kilometres from Serlachius Manor to Serlachius Headquarters on the forested Love path. The path goes along strand of the Lake Kuorevesi, which allows us to admire beautiful landscapes of the lakeside nature. Along the way the guide tells about the forests and lakes as well as interesting details of the past and present of the Art Town. If you wish, the museums can provide your entire group with Nordic walking poles. All you need are comfortable shoes, clothing according to the weather and a fresh attitude to outdoor activities.

Tour in the primeval forest
Inhabitants of Mänttä tend to exaggerate a bit and call the small hill of the town by the name Mäntänvuori, the Mänttä Mountain. The hill is one of the results of ice age in Tampere Region. Serlachius’ guide will lead you on just a 30-minute walking distance from the town centre. Let’s pop in this primeval forest in order to see how an untouched coniferous forest looks like when it has undergone no forestry actions. The tour guide of Serlachius leads us also to the forest church and the observation tower, which is one of the tallest timber buildings in Finland. There is still a surprise hidden in the forest: Central European style wine tavern, the building used to be the skiing cottage constructed by the Serlachius company.

Nature Tour with Refreshments
Strap on a light backpack and tune up a pair of Nordic walking poles: we head for the Path of Love! This historical 2,5 km path leads through the forest from one museum to another. Our cheerful guide will tell you about the Finnish nature and stories related to the versatile sceneries. Along the way we stop to take in the lake landscape and enjoy some refreshments from our backpacks.
