Guided walking tour in the town among the beautiful buildings related to the vivid history of the Serlachius Paper Company, from neoclassicism to functionalism!

Tour in the Primeval Forest

Inhabitants of Mänttä tend to exaggerate a bit and call the small hill of the town by the name Mäntänvuori, the Mänttä Mountain. The hill is one of the results of ice age in Tampere Region. Serlachius Museums’ guide will lead you on just a 30-minute walking distance from the town centre. Let’s pop in this primeval forest in order to see how an untouched coniferous forest looks like when it has undergone no forestry actions. The tour guide of Serlachius Museums leads us also to the forest church and the observation tower, which is one of the tallest timber buildings in Finland. There is still a surprise hidden in the forest: Central European style wine tavern, the building used to be the skiing cottage constructed by the Serlachius company.
