Palate Meets Palette
This book presents delicious pairings of good food and fine art by presenting a selection of paintings from the Serlachius Museums’ collections alongside dishes and recipes inspired by specific artists.
Henry Tikkanen, the acclaimed head chef of the Gösta Restaurant at the Serlachius Museums, invited nine other top Finnish chefs to join him in being inspired by art. Each chef reveals fresh culinary perspectives on art by creating a dish based on a specific painting. The chef participating are Matti Jämsén, Kai Kallio, Sasu Laukkonen, Heikki Liekola, Jarmo Pitkänen, Sami Sorvoja, Pekka Terävä, Henry Tikkanen, Jari Vesivalo and Eero Vottonen. The exquisite photographs of the dishes were taken by Juha-Pekka Laakioalokuvat ovat Juha-Pekka Laakion käsialaa.
The recipes have been designed by top chefs, but they are suited to everybody’s home kitchen.
