The book Marita Liulia has been published in connection with Golden Age exhibition at Serlachius Museum Gösta.
Marita Liulia is one of Finland’s most successful contemporary artist with probably one of longest professional careers. Her breakthrough in Finland took place in the 1980’s. She gained international success in the 1990’s and as a result she has held exhibitions and performances in over 50 countries.
Liulia has worked in a broad area as an artist. She is best known for her interactive multimedia works of the 1990’s and her projects of the 2000’s addressing different themes, such as spirituality, life skills and religions. She has worked in painting, photography, installation, video, multimedia, collage, graphic design, theatre, radio plays and dance.
This book presents her career and various works by her, contextualising her persona as an artist in the Finnish and global art since the 1980’s. The Serlachius Museums and Parvs publishing company have also published the catalogue of the exhibition.
The book has Finnish and English texts.
