Morning Coffee on the Roof of a Town

Works from the Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation’s contemporary art collection

Serlachius Manor 5.11.2022—16.4.2023

Morning Coffee on the Roof of a Town is a vantage point over discussion topics that emerge about the Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation’s contemporary art collection. The foundation began to collect contemporary art in the early 2010s. The collection currently consists of more than 500 works, of which approximately 60 are on display in this exhibition.

In recent decades, there has also been discussion about discussion itself – the bubble from which each of us views the world. Does art help us to better understand unfamiliar perspectives, or is contemporary art, too, only expressing a view from within its own bubble?

The exhibition includes works by artists, such as Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Pirjetta Brander, Stefan Bremer, Elina Brotherus, Einar Garibaldi Eiríksson, Peter Frie, Jiri Geller, Kalle Hamm, Emma Helle, Sasha Huber, Dzamil Kamanger, Jani Leinonen, Riikka Lenkkeri, Ville Lenkkeri, Marita Liulia, Niko Luoma, Heikki Marila, Reima Nevalainen, Antti Oikarinen, Outi Pieski, Aurora Reinhard, Inta Ruka, Stiina Saaristo, Riiko Sakkinen, Kimmo Schroderus, Noora Schroderus, Janna Syvänoja, Katja Tukiainen, Santeri Tuori, Sampsa Virkajärvi and Troels Wörsel. The exhibition is curated by Laura Kuurne.
