Serlachius is open in wintertime from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
Restaurant Gösta is t your serviceon museum’s open days from 11 am to 5 pm (kitchen until 4:30 pm)

24 Dec, Christmas Eve closed
25 Dec, Christmas Day closed
26 Dec, Boxing Day open from 11 am–18. Additional Sauna time at the Art Sauna from 13 pm to 7 pm.
29 Dec, Monday closed
31 Dec, New Year’s Eve closed
1 Jan, New Year’s Day open from 11 am to 6 pm

There are seven exhibitions open at Serlachius during Christmas Time. Please note that one museum ticket gives access to Serlachius Manor as well as Serlachius Headquarters. We accept The Museum Card!

At Serlachius Manor, explore Stiina Saaristo’s comprehensive retrospective Always Happy which probes human’s deepest feelings with a delightful laughter bubbling on the surface. See Milja Viita’s persisting film installation People on Sunday and Agnes Meyer-Brandis’ thought-provoking As Trees Go By. The hanging in several exhibition spaces of Classic Works of Fine Art at the Manor has been renewed.

At Serlachius Headquarters you enter the world of Viljami Heinonen’s expressive paintings in the exhibition Somewhere in Between. Patrons tells the story of Serlachius, its art collection as well as hat of Mänttä industrial society. Whereas the drawings in the exhibition Measured and Drawn expose the beauty of the old buildings.

Serlachius Art Sauna is warm at Christmas Time, as well

Welcome to enjoy the steam at Serlachius Art Sauna on Tuesdays from 1 pm to 7 pm. Throw water on the communal stove, relax in the steam of round steam room and bubbles of the bathtub outside. Take a dip in Melasjärvi from the end of the jetty, if you dare!

Note! Besides Tuesdays, the Art Sauna will also be warm on Boxing Day, on Thursday 26 Dec. Book your sauna shift beforehand online. Bring your own swim suit, towel and bench cover. Tickets €14/10,50/0.

Enjoy Christmas flavours of Restaurant Gösta

Restaurant Gösta’s Christmas lunch served to tables contains alternatives for the first and second dishes as well asl deserts. Christmas menu is served 9–19 Dec Tuesday–Friday from 11 am 4.30 pm. Book lunch beforehand lfor you or your group.

The restaurant is open during museum’s all opening days from 11 am to 5 pm (kitchen until 4:30 pm). Restaurant has a magnificent view over museum’s Sculpture Park. See the restaurant’s menu.

Welcome using public transportation! Train & Taxi service

When you want to travel ecologically, book online our Train & Taxi service which is available on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Travel from Tampere on a local train to Vilppula raiway station where a joint taxi ride awaits. It will bring you directly to the museum (ca. 5 km) and will take back to evening train.

Joy for the whole family at Christmas Tail on Taavetti Island

Already a tradition, Christmas Trail runs on the Taavetti Island at Serlachius Manor 28 Nov–6 Jan. Ten post boxes on the Christmas Trail contain inspiring questions which can be answered together among children and adults.

Fetch an answering sheet from the ticket office. You may check the correct answers by returning your answer sheet to the ticket counter and also submit your contact information for our mailing list. You may walk the Christmas Trail outside museum’s opening hours using QR code.

Welcome to shop! The museum shops at Serlachius Manor and Serlachius Headquarters are open Tue-Sun from 11 am. to 6 pm. You do not need a museum ticket to visit the store.
