Anish Kapoor exhibition opens on 27 June – some of the works will be on display earlier

Media release 7 May 2026

Anish Kapoor’s major exhibition at Serlachius will open to the public on 27 June instead of the previously announced 23 May.

Anish Kapoor Studio tells the following about the situation:

“It is with sincere regret that the studio has had to announce the delay of the opening at Serlachius. It has been a difficult decision to reach, however in the pursuit to create work that may appear untouched by the human hand and as though from another world, real world limitations do occasionally arise, and in order not to compromise the scale and ambition of Anish Kapoor’s project for Mänttä, a delay is necessary on this occasion.

We hope you can bear with us for the realization of what we believe will be one of Kapoor’s most extraordinary works to date.”

Anish Kapoor’s exhibition will have a long duration, running until April 2027.

Part of the exhibition: Kapoor’s black non-objects, in which he uses the Vantablack coating, and large-scale paintings can be viewed from 23 May.
