Experiences exploring classic and contemporary art

Serlachius has a total of seven exhibitions on display, from which everyone will find something to their liking. At Serlachius Manor, you can see British artist Keith Tyson’s exhibition Universal Symphony, Milja Viita’s film installation People on Sunday and Agnes Meyer-Brandis’ exhibition As Trees Go By.

The Classic Works of Fine Art at the Manor, hung from Serlachius’ own collections, will be renewed with dozens of changing works during the autumn. See again, for example, Quinten Massys’ The Madonna with Cherries (1500s) and Eero Järnefelt’s Koli (1908).

Viljami Heinonen’s recently opened exhibition Somewhere in Between, Measured and Drawn, which presents measurement drawings made by architects and architecture students in Mänttä, and the permanent exhibition Patrons, which tells the story of Mänttä, are on display at the Serlachius Headquarters.

Family day at Serlachius Headquarters on Sun 12 October

During the Family Day in the autumn, we will hear interesting stories about the old buildings of Mänttä, see pictures from the archives and build our own scale model.

From noon to 5 pm, we will build our own miniature model from wooden pieces in a nonstop workshop. Also choose a building that interests you and make your own drawing according to the model.

At 1 pm and 3 pm, we will take a family tour to examine architecture in a way that interests children and hear stories about the built environment of Mänttä.

The Family Day workshop and guided tours are suitable for all ages. Free admission for children under 18 years of age, museum ticket for adults €16/€10.50. Free of charge with the Museum Card!

Don’t forget Children’s Saturdays! We will make art inspired by exhibitions on 4 Oct at Serlachius Headquarters and on 1 Nov at Serlachius Manor from 2 pm to 4 pm.
