Stiina Saaristo’s work Those Assholes acquired for Serlachius Collection

Those Assholes (Ne Paskiaiset) is an eight-part sculpture ensemble that marks a new chapter in Stiina Saaristo’s artistic practice. This multi-figured tableau is the artist’s largest sculpture ensemble to date.

The work was completed for Saaristo’s retrospective Always Happy, which was shown at Serlachius from 22 November 2025 to 12 April 2026. The work was acquired for the Serlachius Art Collection along with two other works displayed in the exhibition.

The collaboration between Saaristo and Serlachius began in 2014 with the exhibition The Sin, at which time the foundation acquired the first Saaristo drawing for its collection.

Serlachius currently has eight works by Stiina Saaristo in its collection: three drawings, two graphic works and three sculptures. Next autumn, Saaristo will be presented as part of Gösta’s Little Art Library book series, which introduces the artists in the collection.
