Posters printed as individual copies of beloved works in the collection can now be ordered from the Serlachius online store. Cooperation with Printek Oy from Keuruu offers high-quality printing in an environmentally friendly way and at the same time reduces waste caused by storage.

The selection at Serlachius’ online store currently includes thirty familiar artwork images, from which posters in two different sizes can be ordered in Finland. The price is €15/poster + postage. From the online store, the order is forwarded directly to Printek, which prints the desired number of posters, packs them and sends them directly to the customer, only with Finland. The delivery time is fast.

This so-called Print on demand practice was introduced at Serlachius to be able to keep the selection of posters as large as possible. The practice reduces storage and the resulting loss and is environmentally friendly.

Cultural heritage for all

The Serlachius Art Collection contains many artworks of national value, a common cultural heritage that everyone must be able to enjoy. In recent years, this thinking has become more common around the world and in Finland. The opportunity to order the classic works of Serlachius’ collection as posters is Serlachius’ philosophy of sharing in practice.

The individual printing of art posters has been made possible by the development of technology and Printek Oy’s investment in a new printer. Printek prints the posters with renewable electricity. The company’s EcoCompass certification is close to being completed. The posters are printed on FSC-certified paper.

The cooperation also implements Serlachius’ goal of supporting responsible local production and cooperation with SMEs. Serlachius also invites other Finnish museums to join the environmentally friendly poster shop.
