Safer Space Principles

We follow the principles of a safer spaceAt Serlachius, everyone can safely be themselves and feel welcome. We comply with non-discrimination and equality laws, promote a respectful and open atmosphere, and intervene in inappropriate behaviour. A safe space is the responsibility of all of us.

Everyone is welcome to us as they are. We want to offer everyone a safe and comfortable environment.

The museum complies with Finnish non-discrimination and equality legislation. No one may be discriminated against, for example, on the basis of background, nationality, gender, age, state of health, disability, sexual orientation, family form, world view or other personal characteristics.

A safe space is created by common rules:

We treat each other with kindness and respect.
We don’t disturb others, for example, by making noise, using offensive language, or getting too close.
We listen, discuss and encourage – you can also disagree constructively.
We have an open attitude towards each other and try to identify our own prejudices.
We apologize if we offend anyone.

If a situation raises concerns or feels uncomfortable, you can tell the staff about it or give feedback using the form on the website – even anonymously.

Our staff will intervene in inappropriate behaviour and provide support if necessary.
