Instructions for Art Sauna booking

The Art Sauna and its restaurant services are rented for various events: meetings, corporate events, family gatherings and evening gatherings.

The Art Sauna is an accessible space. The steam room has access to the floor level with a wheelchair.

Pets are not allowed in the Art Sauna. Smoking is allowed in the designated area on the outdoor terrace of the sauna.

The initial rental period is 4 hours, which can be extended by mutual agreement. The opening hours of the art sauna are not tied to the museum’s opening hours; events can start before 10/11 am and last until later than 6 pm.

Serlachius Art Sauna: €460/4 h, additional hours €90/h. The size of the group does not affect the rent of the premises.

Excellent food is an essential part of the Serlachius Art Sauna experience. The art sauna is only rented with restaurant services. For restaurant services, the minimum billing is based on a meal for ten people – of course, there may be fewer participants. We will be happy to make an offer for your group!

In 2025, it will not be possible to rent the Art Sauna on public sauna days on Tuesdays or on the following days: Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day 1 May, Midsummer weekend, Independence Day 6 December, Christmas Eve 24 December, Christmas Day 25 December and New Year’s Eve 31 December.

ARRIVING AT THE ART SAUNA

The Art Sauna is located at Serlachius Manor in the museum’s park area on the shore of Lake Melasjärvi.The visiting address is Joenniementie 47, 35800 Mänttä. The distance from the art sauna to the centre of Mänttä is about three kilometres.

The museum’s parking lot and electric car charging points also serve visitors to the Art Sauna.

Please, when arriving at the Art Sauna gather at the agreed time near the museum’s main entrance. The staff will meet you in the front yard, from where you can move together across the park to the Art Sauna (walking distance about 200 m).

It is possible for the members of the group to arrive at the Art Sauna later than the main group. The event organiser should provide those arriving later with the attached image of the map, which shows the parking and pedestrian route to the Art Sauna. HOW BIG AN EVENT IS THE SAUNA SUITED FOR?

The Art Sauna has a capacity for events of up to 40–50 people.

The round steam room of the Art Sauna can accommodate about 15–20 people at a time. Please note that the Art Sauna has two identical dressing rooms and shower rooms (3 showers per shower room). There is one steam room, and sauna bathing takes place in swimwear.
There is seating for 24 people around the meeting and dining table in the living areas of the Art Sauna.
The lounges of the Art Sauna have seating for a total of about 35 people, including the above-mentioned bathrooms. tables, sofas and various seats in the living area.
At the large stone table in the outdoor deck area, there is seating for 24 people.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RENT OF AN ART SAUNA?

Participant info upon arrival, practical matters of the Art Sauna visit.
Towels and bench covers for the use of sauna bathers. Bathrobes can be rented for €20/person. There are no slippers for sale or loan at the sauna, so those who want to should bring them with them.
Bubble tub for 6–8 people, in use throughout the year.
Swimming possiblity in the lake, in winter also ice swimming (bring your own winter swimming equipment). Note: The art sauna does not have an actual beach, instead swimming takes place from the jetty. This should be taken into account, for example, with children.
Large outdoor deck area with furniture, dining opportunity at a table for 24 people (not covered space).
Modern meeting technology, large 75-inch screen. A high-quality camera and microphone system is available for hybrid meetings.
When needed, you will have access to the house’s laptop. You can also use your own computer if you wish. Adapters for all connector types.
There is a fireplace in the living areas.
At the Art Sauna, outdoor shoes are left in the hallway. Borrowable wool socks are available in different sizes. In festive events, this should be taken into account and the guests should be informed.
Staff will be there to help throughout your visit.

DINING AND FOOD AT THE ART SAUNA

Restaurant Gösta’s restaurateur and chef Henry Tikkanen and his staff prepare the experiential meals served at the Art Sauna. Henry Tikkanen is an award-winning master of pristine flavours. He describes the core idea of his restaurant with the words “natural cuisine”, which utilises ingredients from local producers and wild produce from local nature.

Serlachius Art Sauna is the licensed area of Restaurant Gösta. It is not possible to consume your own drinks and snacks. Drinking water is always available free of charge.
At the Art Sauna, meals are served to the tables. Restaurant staff will be present throughout the meal.
We will make a separate proposal regarding catering for all events held at the Art Sauna. You can find examples of options in the attached Art Sauna à la carte menu. See the menu below. The whole group is required to make a uniform menu selection announced in advance. Special diets and allergies are taken into account. Vegetarian and vegan versions of the dishes are available on request. Drinks served with food and in the sauna can be ordered on site.
Meals for children under 13 years of age are half price.
Visitors can purchase drinks during their visit or they can be invoiced according to demand. When invoicing according to demand, a joint payment is required.
In longer, all-day events, it is possible that for example the lunch will be served at Restaurant Gösta and dinner at Serlachius Art Sauna.

BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

After contacting the sales service of the Serlachius Museums, you will receive an offer for renting the Art Sauna. At the same time, a preliminary reservation will be made for the space. In connection with the order confirmation, the content of the order and the number of people are confirmed. The art sauna cannot be tentatively booked for more than a few working days.

The customer must notify the special diets no later than eight days before the event.
For orders cancelled seven days before the event and reductions in the number of people, we will charge 50% of the value of the event, but always at least the minimum invoice.
We will charge the full price for all cancellations and reductions in the number of people made less than four days before the event.
In the event of force majeure, the service provider may cancel the booking. In this case, the customer is entitled to a full refund of the amount paid.
If the booking has to be interrupted due to disruptive behaviour, the payments will not be refunded.

Payment terms: the customer pays with a debit or credit card at the Art Sauna.

The prices presented in the offer require a joint payment for the entire group.
Payment according to the confirmed number of people. If the number of people increases from the advertised, invoicing will be done according to the actual amount.
Possible invoicing must be agreed upon separately and in advance. On the invoice, the payment term is 14 days net.

We reserve the right to remove a person causing disturbance from the area. The customer is liable for any damage or loss of the Art Sauna property.
