Major Anish Kapoor exhibition to Serlachius

ExhibitionsAn exhibition by British artist Anish Kapoor, one of the world’s most significant contemporary artists, will open at Serlachius in May 2026. The Fine Arts Foundation’s major venture will bring to Serlachius paintings by Kapoor that delve into eternal questions, as well as a new monumental sculpture.

Kapoor is renowned for his bold, sensual sculptures that hold a dynamic relationship with the viewer in the spaces they inhabit and create. Often using scale as a tool, his works are both intimate and architectural in their reach.

Kapoor will create a new sculpture of monumental scale for Serlachius’ largest exhibition space. The other exhibition halls feature his paintings from recent years as well as works in smaller scale.

Anish Kapoor explores the borderland between our inner world and external reality. He makes skilful use of visual archetypes and metaphysical opposites. The exhibition curated by Timo Valjakka is on show at Serlachius Manor from 23 May 2026 to 4 Apr 2027.

Kasitonni and On Foot to Serlachius Headquarters

In 2026, Serlachius will also host Anssi Kasitonni’s exhibition Below Zero Finnish Art Award 2025. Kasitonni’s exhibition will include, among other things, a sculpture that he made during his residency in London related to the Below Zero Award, as well as other recent works.

The Kasitonni exhibition will be on display at the Serlachius Headquarters from 21 March to 30 August 2026. The exhibition is curated by David Crawforth, Naomi Siderfin and Pauli Sivonen.

Walking is at the heart of the human experience. The exhibition On Foot is the first comprehensive presentation of walking in a Finnish museum. The exhibition is based on Serlachius’ own art collection. In addition, the exhibition features works on loan from other Finnish museums, as well as new works by contemporary artists.

The exhibition, curated by Tomi Moisio and Carlos Idrobo, will be on display at Serlachius Headquarters from 26 September 2026 to 21 February 2027.
