Hannu Palosuo Giorgio de Chiricon taideteosten edessä

The curator of the exhibition De Chirico and the Theatre, artist Hannu Palosuo presents the exhibition in Finnish language. The duration of the curator’s tour is about an hour and is included in the price of the museum ticket.

Giorgio de Chirico (1888–1978) was an Italian artist who developed the so-called  metaphysical art movement in the 1910s. He is considered one of the most important innovators of 20th-century painting. He was also a great fan of opera and designed sets and costumes for dozens of different performances.

De Chirico and the Theatre presents the artist’s work in the performing arts and his relationship with his long-term hometown of Rome. The exhibition is also the first exhibition in Finland to present de Chirico’s oeuvre extensively.
