Time passes, everything changes

Thursday 19 February from 1 pm–2.30 pm Serlachius Manor

How do we value the moments we live? How is our environment changing? We ponder these questions in Serlachius Manor’s exhibitions When the Trees Wander and People on Sunday.

The works of the German Agnes Meyer-Brandis, which combine science and art, implemet the humorous and surreal touch characterisctic of her art. Milja Viita’s new film installation, on the other hand, examines the inevitability of the passage of time, the cyclical nature of history, and the beauty and fragility of life. The event takes place in Finnish language.

The Beatles and the Yellow Submarine

Thursday 16 April from 1 pm–2.30 pm Serlachius Headquarters

Vilppula-borne Anssi Kasitonni won the Below Zero Art Prize, which was awarded for the fourth time. During the London residency, which was part of the award, a gable triangle sculpture was created in the gallery to decorate the former school for disadvantaged children.

Kasitonni lets the ideas soar and provides a playground for distractions stemming from music and popular culture. Where do cheerful works lead our thoughts? The event takes place in Finnish language.

In the Heart of the Industrial Comminity

Thursday 7 May from 1 pm–2.30 pm Mänttä Church and Serlachius Headquarters

What does Mänttä Church tell us about the world of 100 years ago? It was born in the turmoil of the surrounding society. The location of the church in the vicinity of the headquarters and the factory highlights the close relationship between the parish and the Serlachius company.

The design and construction of the building testify to the care and professionalism of its makers. Autere’s wood carvings complete the unique atmosphere of the space, and the church with its park reminds us of the Serlachius’ interest in beautifying the locality.  The event takes place in Finnish language.

The entrance ticket €10.50 includes the program and coffee service. The programme is organised by the museum staff. Welcome!
