Esther Shalev-Gerz

The book relates to Esther Shalev-Gerz's exhibition Factory is Outside on show at Serlachius Museum Gustaf. The exhibition comprises several entities of artworks, which deal with the construction of cultural identities and the status of traditional professions in the digitalizing world.

The book contains articles written by several authors. They portray artist Esther Shalev-Gerz and her oeuvre. The publication also presents the entities of artworks that are on display in the exhibition Factory is outside.

The authors of the publication are Pauli Sivonen, Matthew Biro, Jill Silverman van Coenegrachts and Tuomas Seppä. In addition, curator of the exhibition, Timo Valjakka, has interviewed artist Ester Shalev-Gerz for the book.
